Jesus Christ is the greatest and the sweetest name I know. "What is in a name?" you may ask. Well, your name is your identity, your badge and your label of existence. Good name is even better than gold and silver. You name is everything you stand for and what you are about. In the same vein, the name of Jesus opens doors and make things happen. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the father.
In Jesus, dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead (the trinity of Father, Son and the Holy Ghost) bodily. Everything God does is summed up and encapsulated in Christ. You cannot worship God outside Jesus Christ. However, you can worship Jesus without embarrassing God because Jesus is not just the Son of God; Jesus Christ is God the Son.
People get comfortable when you talk about God. They don't have a problem with that or religion. You hear some blind statements like: "Oh, we all worship the same God." However, when you start talking about Jesus Christ, that is when you meet the stumbling rock of offense. The question for every human being on earth is the same question Pontius Pilate asked the Jews: "What would you do with Jesus?"
Do you know why we are Christians and not Godians? Because the world has so many false gods and uncountable religion. However, embracing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is all about living relationship with the only true God. Well, the Almighty is always painting the portrait of one man from Genesis to Revelation: the picture of His loving Son--or, should I say--the Son of His love. The Son of God became the son of man so that sons of men would become the sons of God.
Just is the way, the truth and the life. Nobody can come to God except through Jesus Christ. That throws every religious guru or leader out of the window with the religion they founded. Jesus never founded any religion. He came to introduce and link us to the Father in heaven. He talked about the kingdom of God and changed lives, one person at a time, with His teachings, love, acts of mercy and lifestyle.
We must focus on Jesus: in word, deed and charity. It is unfortunate that we talk about everything and anything in the Church except the head and owner of the Church. I always say, "If Jesus is not the center, then we missed the whole point." Even the Holy Spirit who was given by God in the name of Jesus, came to Glorify Jesus in all things. Teachings and message about Jesus was the principle and power of the Apostolic Church in Acts of the Apostles:
"And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ"--Acts 5:42.
Every time I teach about healing, people come out for healing and some receive their healing. If I teach about money, people receive their financial breakthrough. When I teach about prayer, people are motivated to pray like never before. Also when faith is taught, people get the anointing to believe God like never before. Similar results could happen when you teach about the prophetic and gifts of the Spirit. In all these, you get partial results until you teach about Jesus who is the total package--the perfect gospel. You get well-rounded success in all areas only when you teach about Jesus.
One of the problems of Church leaders in particular and Christendom in general is that they teach everything except--the head of the Church--only solution and hope of mankind. Jesus is the only saviour and hope of mankind. "For there's no other name under heaven given among men by which they would be saved, except the name, Christ Jesus.
