How to Obtain Deliverance

Understanding Deliverance:

Deliverance means freedom, liberation, victory, breakthroughs and miracle of turnaround for the better.

Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. "For this reason, the works of the Son of man is made manifest that He may destroy the works of the devil." Deliverance is reversal of curses, bondages, chains, shackles, strongholds, strangle holds, abortion aftermath, traumas, divorces, rape aftermath, captivity, slavery, failure, defeat, poverty, wretchedness, debt, lack, insufficiency, death and degradation. And all the undercover works of the devil because Jesus came to liberate us from all evil works.

The battle for freedom stands out when you examine the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of God uses light to set people free while the kingdom of darkness strives to enslave, ensnare and entrap people and put them in all sorts of bondage while blind-folding them.

Weapons for deliverance:

• The name of Jesus Christ, the name that gives us victory and spells defeat to the kingdom of darkness.
• The Blood of Jesus Christ, conquered satan and his demonic cohorts while giving us protection and victory.
• The Anointing of the Holy Spirit, the fire power and unction to function that breaks every yoke of bondage.
• The Word of God, which is the sword of the Spirit. Jesus defeated satan with the spoken Word.
• Instrument of Praise and Worship--deliverance songs that enthrones Jehovah God, the man of war.
• Giving God an offering as the Holy Ghost directs is an arrow of God for your deliverance.
• Prayer (praying the word, and praying in the Spirit) and Fasting to solidify your spirit and bring the flesh under to generate enough fire power to break bondages.

What to Do Before Deliverance Prayers:

Be broken before God. Ask God for forgiveness, forgive yourself and others. Repent of your sins and shortcomings. Rededicate yourself to God and his covenant promises to you. Meditate and listen for Rhema word or divine instructions from the Lord. You need a revelation knowledge and clear cut direction to pray with precision.

Two Methods of Deliverance:

• Truth Encounter--When you know the truth, the truth shall set you free. Every life is a history. Just like a doctor takes a detailed history of an illness in order to arrive at accurate diagnosis. You go into history of backgrounds and foundations, circumstances of birth, home environment, upbringing, family patterns, ungodly cycles, relationships, covenants, contact, tarot cards, palm reading, playing with Ouija board, consulting psychics, reading occult books, sorcery, magic spells, horoscopes, contamination, occult involvement, cults, lodges, white garment churches, demonic entry points and doorways, besetting sins, habits, conducts, attitudes, dreams, religions, gangs, syndicates, drugs, armed robbery, prostitution.
• Power Encounter--This is the use of a kind of commanding authority. Authority is the right to exercise power under the inspiration and direction of the Holy Ghost. This is deliverance under heavy anointing of the Holy Ghost. Power gifts of healings goes with deliverance anointing. Especially with a minister that operate in a greater dimension of deliverance grace which usually comes with healing virtue. Some ministers are more anointed than others by reason of gifting, longevity or experience in this area. Your pastor may be a good pastor but lacks anointing in this area to break the kind of yoke or bondage by heavy duty demons. Here, there may not be time to ask a lot of questions. The heavy dose of power can stir, agitate and provoke the demons into manifestation so that they can be cast out.
• Combination of Both Power and Truth--Most often, a typical deliverance session may involve the combination of power encounter and revelation knowledge of the truth about the whole situation. Sometimes after going through a series of deliverance course of study, you are then ready for power encounter during ministration. Don't rely heavily on getting information from demons. Remember they can lie. Depend on the leadership and direction of the Holy Spirit.

The Three Kinds of Deliverance:

1. Personal Deliverance--This is a do-it-yourself without a third party or minister. It's done through prayer, faith confessions and fasting--and more!

Deliverance--Putting it All Together:

Some deliverance is one time event. Others takes series of deliverance sessions. Note that it is easy to obtain than to maintain. Working in the light of your deliverance is necessary so that you don't entangle yourself again in demonic bondage. You can lose your deliverance if you go back and keep sinning and your state may be worst than before according to the Scripture. Most often, the preambles of truth encounter also involve teaching people how to keep their deliverance and move on to higher grounds of victory. You also have to understand purpose and walk in your destiny, "for deliverance without direction is deception."

Why God Speaks Through Dreams?

Dreams and visions are both windows and language of the supernatural realm. It is the invisible that controls, dominates, rules, and over-rules the natural physical mundane world. People who dismiss this fact as superstition or that 'it's just a dream learn the hard way" may learn the hard way. Everything that happens in the natural is first created in the spiritual before it manifests in the natural. The real world is the spirit world while this world of matter is a refection or copy of the real. However, dreams are subjective way of spiritual communication because of counter interference from our thought-life and the dark kingdom.

Here are some reasons why God speaks to us through dreams:

• To seal instructions into us and solidify us spiritually. Instruction is for construction.
• To warn us of impending harm or danger. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
• To redirect us towards our prophetic destiny and divine inheritance.
• To give us the blueprint, divine plan and purpose for our lives.
• To call us to God's work, divine mandate or vocation.
• To reveal (supernaturally) hidden truth to us which we can't access any other way.
• Every dream like prophecy is a topic for intercessory prayer and call to change for the better.
• To reveal what satan is programming against us and how to thwart it. To show us how to win our battles before they even manifest in the natural.

There are three components to a dream: the retelling or explanation of the dream, the meaning or interpretation, and the timing or application. Dreams could be symbolic, precautionary, literal, contrary or prophetic.

Don't Confuse Character with Charisma; Fruit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Many Christians who have been exposed to the prophetic gifts, miracles, signs and wonders always confuse the gifts of the Holy Spirit with the character or Christ-likeness of the operator. It is a sad story that many people who work in the gift of the Spirit may have character flaws that is out of character with the demonstration of the charismatic gifts. The gifts are mainly deposited but the character is developed over the long haul.

The gifts are endowment of grace from above as dispensed by the Holy Spirit; it is not a mark of spirituality or spiritual superiority. That's why the basis of operation of the charismatic gifts is love. Even faith which is the propeller that drives the gifts work by love. God will always cherish the power of love rather than the love of power. Love is the nature and heartbeat of God. Love is the super-glue that holds all other spiritual fruit or fruits or the spirit together. God is not raising religious nuts; He loves spiritual fruit.

Many Christians in pentecostal circles tend to emphasize power gifts, and sit around to ask for more blessings and more anointing without doing anything further. "People ask for more fresh anointing without doing anything with the ones God has already deposited in them," says one pastor. We should rather be asking for more wisdom and more of Christlike character. Working in holiness and integrity is very important to God. What we are for God is more important to Him as a father than what we do for Him as servants. We can be doing our own will and doing our own things and still perform miracles and acts of power. You can work for God without walking like God.

We can do all the wonderful works of God and not make it into the kingdom of in the final analysis. One of the most perplexing Scriptures in the whole Bible is Matthew 7:21-23:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

This is a very puzzling Scripture in deed. Most of the miracle works who don't obey the will of God will become cast aways. These Christians must have been God's anointed ministers and called servants in the five-fold ministry, I suppose. My question in all these is: "wasn't it God that gave them the power of the Holy Ghost to do all those miracles?"

In summary, we need both the gifts and the fruit being careful to work exactly according to God's instructions and His blueprints. We must work in integrity, holiness and Christ-like character. Spiritual gifts are in no way an endorsement of our mistakes, flaws or human frailties. God does miracles and carries out His works regardless of the vessel. However, while using the vessels, God requires, pruning, purging and uprightness from the servant to be become a yielded vessel, "for many are called but few are chosen."

Can A Christian Have a Demon?

• Regardless of whether the demons operate from inside or outside, the results and devastation is still the same and deliverance is needed to expunge them.

If you are seeking deliverance and you come across a minister who makes the above arguments. Ask him how many people he has delivered. Please run if he says things like: "Oh, it's the word, I don't believe in deliverance stuff; just confess the word. Or, I don't believe that a Christian can have a demon and the host of other arguments that give people a false sense of security.
